Re : Letter of Support for Mr L

　　We are given to understand by Mr L that, despite our invitation letter of December 9, 1999, his application for an B1 Visa has been refused.

　　We are told that he is putting in another application and we write to provide more details regarding Mr L and his proposed visit to enable you to arrive at a more accurate decision.

　　Our company is the world''s leading supplier of polymeric heat exchangers for a quarter century with over 900,000 installations worldwide, including systems installed at the following locations in China:

　　(1) B H Technology Building

　　with 70,000 m2 floor area

　　(2) C N Broadcasting Building

　　with 50,000 m2 floor ar

　　(3) W T Centre - Phase One)

　　with 120,000 m2 floor area

　　(4) B W T Centre - Phase Two

　　with 80,000 m2 floor area

　　The above projects were handled by C Company and Mr L is the Deputy General Manager of C Company responsible for these projects.

　　Presently we are working on Phases Three and Four of the B W T Centre with an estimated total outlay of approaching US$ 1 million for the ice thermal storage systems supplied by our company.

　　We are inviting Mr L and a few decision makers of these projects in China to visit our plant for inspections and meetings towards finalizing the agreement. Mr L has been involving in discussions and negotiations on these projects for over a year and his presence at the crucial meetings scheduled to be held in our office will be of significance.

　　We understand that there are competitors from other countries bidding and there is a risk of our company losing these contracts if Mr L is unable to attend the on-site meetings as he is our representative in China looking after our interests there.

　　I have been to China and have occasions to personally meet Mr L. He is a successful executive with a great future ahead of him in China. I do not personal feel that he is likely to abuse his visa, if granted. His application therefore has our full support.
